New Dover Contraflow Bus Lane
Works on the new Contraflow Bus Lane in Dover town centre are due to begin in October 2024. This will mean various roads closures and the suspension of the one way system on a rolling basis during the work.

Due to these works, undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of Various Roads in Dover from 14th October 2024 with estimated completion by January 2025. Works will be carried out with rolling restrictions, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Biggin Street will be closed between the junctions of Pencester Road and Priory Street.
Pencester Road will be closed between the junctions of Biggin Street and A256 Maison Dieu Road. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Maison Dieu Road, A256 Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street, A256 York Street and Worthington Street.
Worthington Street will be closed between the junctions of A256 York Street and Biggin Street. The one- way Order will be suspended the entire length, to allow access.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Priory Road, B2245 Ladywell, B2245 Park Place, B2245 Park Street, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road and Biggin Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
