Kent County Council are planning to carry out ‘slurry sealing’ to improve sections of the footway on these roads: Ash Close, Briar Close, Crabble Close, Hawthorne Close, Hazeldown Close, Lyndhurst Road, Orchard Drive, River Drive, The Ridgeway, The Spinney, Westdean Close, Wingrove Hill and Woodland Close.
Works are programmed to start on Thursday 22nd August and should be completed by Wednesday 4th September 2024. Residents should receive a leaflet from the contractor, Kiely Brothers, three days before works start near your property. Signs will also be displayed in the roads.
Sections of footway will have to be closed whilst works are being carried out. The footway should be re-opened within 2 hours of the treatment being applied. Residents are asked to cut back any vegetation hanging over the footway and, if possible, to park away from the area being worked on.
Kent Highways do not allow contractors to do any private work for cash. Anyone offering to do this and claiming to be from KCC should be treated as a bogus caller.
