An overnight closure of part of Crabble Road, River, is currently planned for Tuesday 13th October 2020 between 10.00 pm through until approximately 6.00 am. Crabble Road will be closed in the general vicinity of the railway bridge. There will be no direct access between Dover and River using Crabble Road during these works.

The alternative route for through traffic is via A256 Crabble Hill, Buckland Avenue, Barton Road, Frith Road, Charlton Green, Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street (Priory Road, High Street and London Road in opposite direction), B2011 Folkestone Road, New Dover Road, Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road (Folkestone), Canterbury Road, Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Road, Lower Road, Minnis Lane and Lewisham Road.

The length of the diversion is to avoid low bridges on more local routes.

The closure is to enable Network Rail to carry out to allow a detailed bridge inspection.
