Improvement Project

River Recreation Ground Project

River Parish Council is working on a project to improve the facilities at Rver Recreation Ground and make them more attractive to a wider section of the community.

An outdoor table tennis table, a basketball hoop and seating areas have already been installed. April 2017 will see the completion of a new toddler play area (for children under 5 years of age) as the equipment in the existing one is coming towards the end of its lifespan. This stage has been funded by the Parish Council. Several companies were examined and detailed quotations received from three before Eibe Play Ltd were chosen as the successful contractor.

Each piece of equipment will come with guidance for use to help people get the most from the equipment. Part funding has been received from the Kent Capital Sport Fund.
